The MusicBox 5 is a reference quality digital audio server, capable of delivering music from thousands of CDs to any room in the home.
High quality audio has never been easier to enjoy or more accessible. Simply upload all your CDs, or download music from the Internet onto the MusicBox 5’s hard drive.
As you record an album, its title and track listings are acquired and stored automatically by the MusicBox 5.
Now, from any room, you can select the album you wish to listen to using the Living Control VideoPad or DisplayPad. Mum, Dad and the children can listen to three totally different albums in any number of rooms simultaneously - it’s that clever.
Utilising sophisticated encoding and decoding engines, the sound quality of the MusicBox 5 is unsurpassed. The installer or user can configure the MusicBox 5 to record albums with a balance of absolute sound quality and storage capacity.
The latest MusicBox 5 not only offers increased storage capacity but an enhanced audio encoding system.
Combining sophisticated LAME encoding with a new 400G hard drive the MusicBox 5 can store in excess of 4000 albums (that’s roughly six months of continuous music!).
Newly implemented FLAC lossless compression provides unmatched sound quality while still providing twice the storage capacity of WAV uncompressed recordings.
Equally important was the server’s ripping speed and a new fast disc drive and processing engine will record an uncompressed album in less than four minutes! Even FLAC recordings take little more than twelve minutes for a complete album.
With full on-screen remote control menu navigation, including album Cover Art illustrations, the MusicBox 5 will perform beautifully as a standalone product. Software is available to allow you to control your MusicBox 5 via a wireless enabled Pocket PC. All album titles and track names are shown in real time!
In the latest version of the MusicBox 5 you can copy music files directly to your iPod! Simply add your chosen albums or tracks to the MusicBox 5's iPod play-list then dock the iPod in its cradle. The MusicBox 5 will automatically download your chosen albums or tracks into the iPod.
To make life even easier all MusicBox audio serve can be fully controlled by 3rd party handheld PC’s such as Nokia’s N80. All features can be accessed directly including Cover Art Display.
With the new USB 2.0 interface, an external Hard Drive can also be added to provide a back up of all recorded albums.
