The most effective method mains distribution within a rack is a Power Distribution Unit (PDU).
AV Racks’ DP12232 PDUs are among the most advanced power distribution units currently available.
All models include an in-built digital display showing real-time power consumption while the DP12232AMON and DP12232ASWT versions offer an Ethernet interface allowing remote monitoring of mains activity within the entire rack.
Using the DP12232ASWT version, an installer can monitor the rack’s power consumption and also switch on or off each mains outlet remotely from any computer with access to the internet, greatly simplifying diagnostics and trouble shooting.
On all models, each of the twelve outlets is switched individually, enabling the direct switching of each component, and to ensure each component is protected from mains spikes, all models in the range offer integral surge protection.
Each model is designed to be mounted vertically directly to the back of a Rollarak or Classic Cabinet.
Providing that total loading does not exceed 13A, a single PDU can be used to feed a complete system from a single 13A mains socket. If greater power is required a DP12232 can also be used to distribute mains from a dedicated 32A supply.
